Rafah Governorate enjoys a unique strategic location in the far south of the Gaza Strip, serving as Palestine's southern gateway through its direct border with the Arab Republic of Egypt. This vital location is a crucial point of connection between Palestine and the outside world via the Rafah land crossing, designated for the movement of people, and the Kerem Abu Salem commercial crossing, the main artery for goods entering the Gaza Strip.

Thanks to this unique geographical location, Rafah has emerged as a vital center for trade and investment, playing a pivotal role in stimulating economic activity and supporting the Palestinian private sector.

Despite this importance, Rafah was among the governorates most affected during the last war, with its infrastructure and industrial and commercial zones suffering extensive destruction. This was a direct result of targeting its vital position and economic influence in the region. Nevertheless, Rafah has once again proven itself a city of resilience and determination. Its merchants, businesspeople, and Chamber of Commerce continue to play their part in reconstruction efforts, revitalizing the local economy, and launching initiatives that are breathing life back into the city.

The Rafah Governorate Chamber of Commerce and Industry believes that this city, despite its wounds, is capable of rising again to regain its leading role as a bridge for commercial communication and a vital center for the Palestinian economy.
