The Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in the Gaza Strip signed a framework cooperation agreement today with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This agreement aims to strengthen institutional partnerships and intensify efforts to support economic recovery and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip. Representatives from the chambers in all five governorates participated in the signing ceremony.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Alessandro Marcic, Director of the UNDP office in Gaza; Mr. Salim Salimi, Strategic Advisor to the Programme; Ms. Mariam Bino, Communications Officer; and project managers Eng. Raafat Abu Shaaban and Eng. Tariq Shatat.

The agreement is part of an effort to enhance institutional partnerships and intensify efforts to support economic recovery and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture by Mr. Kamal Al-Najili, Deputy Treasurer of the Rafah Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture; Mr. Hussam Al-Huwaiti, Board Member of the Gaza Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture; Mr. Muhammad Abu Warda, Chairman of the Board of the North Governorate Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture; Mr. Muhammad Al-Talbani, Chairman of the Board of the Central Governorate Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture; and Eng. Muhammad Abu Taha, Acting Chairman of the Board and Secretary of the Khan Yunis Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture. Mr. Alessandro Maric, Director of the UNDP office in Gaza, signed on behalf of the UNDP.

Mr. Ayad, Director General of the Rafah Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, also participated in the signing ceremony, underscoring the Chamber's active institutional role in supporting and implementing the outcomes of this agreement at the governorate level. Professor Kamal Al-Najili emphasized that this agreement represents a significant strategic step for the Rafah Chamber of Commerce, reflecting its commitment to strengthening international partnerships to serve the business community in the governorate. He added that the agreement's provisions will be translated into practical programs and projects that support affected merchants and business owners, stimulate local economic activity, and bolster the resilience of the private sector, contributing to recovery and reconstruction efforts.

This agreement comes within the framework of unifying efforts between international institutions and the local private sector, contributing to economic stability and achieving sustainable development in the Gaza Strip.
