Rafah Chamber of Commerce participates in the meetings of the Union of Arab Chambers in Cairo
The Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Fathi Salim Qashta, and his deputy, Mr. Abdullah Al-Satari, participated as part of the delegation of the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, headed by Mr. Abdo Idris, President of the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, in the 136th session of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Chambers. The session was held in Cairo, Egypt, hosted by the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, and attended by His Excellency the Egyptian Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, along with broad participation from delegations representing 17 Arab chambers of commerce from various Arab countries.
The Palestinian delegation also included Mr. Jamal Jawabra, Secretary-General of the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce; Dr. Khairi Al-Masri, Chairman of the Khan Younis Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Tariq Shawar, Chairman of the Qalqilya Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Ms. Iman Awad, Vice-Chairwoman of the Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The session discussed a number of priority Arab economic issues, foremost among them supporting the Palestinian private sector and reconstruction efforts, while emphasizing the importance of providing urgent relief to the chambers of commerce in the Gaza Strip, in order to empower economic institutions and maintain the continuity of the work of the Palestinian private sector in light of the difficult economic and humanitarian conditions.
